Foreign Exchange
Student South Africa. Spending an Academic Year or a Semester
as an exchange student in South Africa means living with a host
family and attending high school for 10-11 months or 4 to 6 months.
In order to qualify as an exchange student in South Africa, you
must be at least 15 years
of age and no more than 18 years of age on the date of your departure
(some programs allow for exceptions to be made for 19-year-old students
and some destinations allow students to participate at the age of
14). You must have
at least a 2.75 GPA for academic year and semester programs and
a 2.50 GPA for summer programs.
Students must also meet any additional requirements specific
to the country they choose, for example a student may be required
to have studied the language of the destination country.
Two Worlds United students must be motivated, flexible, open-minded, curious,
adaptable to new situations, and should have a
sense of humor.
Students should also possess good written
and oral communication skills.
